Join KajakOle’s guides for a trip in a kayak along Christianhavn’s canals and Copenhagen Harbour. Enjoy the architectural pearls and historical buildings from the kayak whilst you glide away through the canals with the paddle in your hands. The trips take place at a relaxed pace where there is time and room to enjoy and chat.
The kayaks are sit-on-top kayaks, i.e. that you sit on top of them. The kayaks are very stable and easy to manoeuvre.
We utilise both single and double kayaks.
Along the way, we will stop at a cosy café near the water and enjoy refreshments. This refreshment is included in the price.
KajakOle sails 3 trips of various lengths. All trips begin and end at Christianshavn.
1½ hour trip – Have a good time in Christianshavn
The trip goes from Strandgade via the harbour and in through Christianhavn’s canal where sailing boats lie off the quay, side by side. After a short stop at the café, we paddle on under the bridge at Christianhavn’s square and follow the canal around until we see “Den Sorte Diamant” (the Black Diamond) which is part of the Royal Library. We then sail homewards under Knippelsbro and past Dansk Arkitektur Center and Asiatisk Plads.
Price: DKK 295 per person including refreshment at the café stop.
2-hour trip - Christianshavn and Holmen
The trip begins like the 1½ hour trip, but is extended with a trip around Holman where the old and newly restored Kanonbådshaller (cannon boat sheds) are located. During the trip we sail into the Navy’s previously closed area where we can see old war ships, exclusive new buildings, the Opera House and the scenic area around Holmen. This trip is for sailing enthusiasts who would like a few more experiences.
Price: DKK 345 per person including refreshment at the café stop.
3-hour trip - Gammel Strand and Christianborg
The 2-hour trip is extended with, e.g. a loop around Gammel Strand, past the well-known buildngs. Holmes Kirke, Børsen (Stock Exchange) and Christiansborg. Experience the beautiful buildings in the centre of Copenhagen and feel the presence of history.
Price: DKK 395 per person including refreshment at the café stop.
Individually arranged trips
The trips can also be arranged according to your wishes, e.g. out to Sluseholmen and Sydhavn where the new Dutch houses are located. Experience a completely new part of town which has just been developed. Or perhaps you would rather begin and end at a special place that makes your kayaking event unique. Varying charges are added to all trips that are arranged with special requests.
Who can participate?
All persons over 10 years of age can participate on the trips. No experience is required, just the desire to get out and paddle and of course, a respect for water. Children between 10 and 15 years of age sail in a double kayak together with an adult.

What you need to bring along
Wear practical clothing according to the weather. Your bottom and feet will become wet. We have weatherproof overalls that can be lent out to all participants if necessary. It is a good idea to bring an extra pair of shoes if you do not row with bare feet.
Bags and jackets can be stored in our cabins along the gangway. The cabins will be locked. Mobile phones, wallets, cameras, keys, etc. will be taken along on the trips in waterproof boxes.
A deposit is not paid, but in case of cancellation less than 30 days before the commencement of the activity, half of the price for the event is paid as a cancellation charge. For cancellation less than 2 weeks before the event, the full price is paid. Changing of the time for the event less than 1 week before the commencement of the event, costs DKK 375 in administration charges.
Cancellation on the part of KajakOle:
Basically, we never cancel. Our motto is: There is never bad weather – only bad attire. On the trips we will find shelter under the bridges if a shower should occur. However, with storms or lightening and thunder and if the instructor evaluates that it is irresponsible to carry out the activity, a credit voucher is given that can be used later in the season.
Payment and price:
Payment in cash or with Dankort to the instructor on the day. The price includes everything – instruction, the guide on the trip, rental of kayaks, inflatable vests, weatherproof pants and a refreshment.
Strandgade 50, 1401 Copenhagen K, near Færgecaféen.
We row until around 1 October – depending on the weather. The trips are arranged as needed.
If trips are arranged outside of the café stop season, normally from 1 May to 1 October, then the instructor will have hot coffee/tea and cold soft drinks available. This does not lead to any change to the price.
